Savvy's Downtown Sweets

I have been here several times on my own and several times after community events! There’s always favorite ice cream flavors and seasonal flavors that I have really enjoyed trying!! The chocolate is also very, very good. You’ll never find a place with more vintage personality and style while also delivering a very high quality product. Also can I just say as a local, I greatly appreciate the way Savvy relates to the community & gives back. She’s really got vision and heart. Not every business does that! ❤️💕 Come enjoy the exquisitely fun ambience & the treats! You won’t be disappointed.

We visited for the first time today, and I spontaneously asked the owner, Savvy, if she happened to have a drink I remembered from the soda shop of my childhood. She didn’t, and hadn’t ever heard of it. However— this did not stop her from pumping my memories until what she was mixing tasted exactly like what I used to skip down the block to spend my allowance on on Saturdays in the summer! The jukebox works, and while I didn’t taste any of their handmade chocolates, I did notice they had several delightful treats from bygone eras, including Moon Pies, an assortment of stick candy (candy canes without the hook, in flavors other than peppermint) and a wall of Jellybelly beans to mix and match. We were really excited to visit Savvy’s and had been looking forward to it for a while, but unfortunately our experience was extremely disappointing. When my family and I walked in, we were not greeted and felt confused about whether we should wait or order. There were only two customers seated and one employee working. After a few minutes, the first thing he said to us was, “You’re my last customers, I have to take my break,” and he brushed past us to flip the sign to CLOSED. While placing our order, the employee seemed very annoyed and repeatedly told us, “I don’t have that,” even though we were ordering directly from the menu. When we asked about the chocolate-dipped cheesecake we had seen online, he gave my mom a rude look and said they hadn’t had it in months, as if we were supposed

Amazing vibe, venue, and more importantly sweet selection! Savvy is an awesome host and business owner! I can't stress enough how everyone needs to visit this place if they're ever in downtown Gilroy.
