Savage's Bakery

This was my first visit. My sister asked me to pick up 20 ginger breadmen. The Bakery was closing their doors after being operating since 1939. I only allowed to buy 2 gingerrbread men, because there were hundreds of customers in line. I waited 2hrs+ min So I bought several other items. My totals was $39.00 + cents. My family has been ordering petit fours from Savages for as long as I can remember. We've had them at every baby shower, and wedding tea. I'm very sad to hear they are shutting the doors! Is it wrong of me to ask about the recipe? Does it have almond extract in just the coating or both the cake and coating? Or do they use almond bark in the coating? Enquiring minds want to know! I know that I will never be able to duplicate the deliciousness they have created with those tiny cakes but I sure can try!

What a cute bakery Savage’s Bakery is. I’m kinda sad I only got one picture inside but it was on Father’s Day weekend, hence, the ‘Dad’ cookies and such. I ended up trying two cookies when I visited, those being a chocolate chip cookie and a sugar cookie. I loved both cookies! It was definitely worth it and I like to support local businesses!

***3-25-2025. Update. Don't know how many cakes we've gotten here over the years but there have been lots! And again, never disappointed. Don't know if they have changed owners or what the deal is now, but they have gone "cashless" so that means they are "Chuckless" too. I like cash and like to pay with cash. Guess I could paint "resist" on their door like some of these lunatics are doing but I don't roll that way. Lol! I can spend my "cash" some where else. So we had a good run Savage's bakery. Spring flowers this trip. Will be shopping somewhere else in October. ***10-23-2024. Birthday cake time again. Never disappointed. I promise it taste as good as it looks...lol. Fall flowers.

The reviews are right - the cake decorator here SUCKS. I came in on a Friday to order a gender reveal cake to be picked up the next day. I requested a plain white exterior with the inside filling matching the gender written on the card I provided. I made it clear that the cake was meant for me. The lady who took my order handled it well—she took the card to the back, opened it there so I wouldn’t see the gender, and handed it back to me. However, when I came to pick up the cake the next day, I was absolutely stunned and disappointed. There were green leaf accents on the cake, but most shocking of all—there was PINK frosting on top of the cake!!!!! The entire purpose of a gender reveal cake is the surprise, and it was completely ruined before I even left the bakery. How could such an obvi
