Rating is purely due to the history of this restaurant. Definitely worth a visit to view all the sketches The food is okay but wildly overpriced for the quality. Bread was a little stale tasting and very underwhelming. Salad was tasty. Spinach cannelloni was very rich but good. Appreciated that you could order an appetizer portion but again very overpriced. Fusilli bolognese was just okay and was not very hot when served. The cookie plate was underwhelming. There are two floors to the restaurant with sketches on both floors. Overall I would recommend going to this restaurant once due to its history.
Iconic, and should be visited at least once if you are a theater lover. The caricatures are abundant and fun to view. Waiters have been there forever. Cocktails are worth it and the bar upstairs deserves the trip up. They have a classic coat check and old school ambiance. I hadn’t been there in over 20 yrs and it looks exactly the same. Food is decent, price is on the high side but it’s Sardi’s. We had the beef salad and spinach cannellini. The salad was better, meat was perfect. I wouldn’t reorder the pasta but it was okay. Chocolate cake looked awesome but none for us. Lunch was definitely an older crowd.
Wow. This place is historic; they'll get you in and out before your show, which is great, but the positives stop there. Their prices felt gouged based on the quality. I'm glad they're located in a convenient place, but even the location doesn't account for how bad the food is. I'd guarantee our lasagna was reheated, and the onion soup was weirdly sweet. It was all bland, and the bread felt insulting (it tasted like costco bread...no offense costco) just to be served with middle-of-the-road butter. I don't think this place is worth a stop if you're a tourist: we literally joked about how a better meal would have been had from Taco Bell for a quarter of the price. Stop in if you like nostalgia, The Muppets, or whatever; do not expect the food to be worth stopping in for, and expect to feel
I have been going to Sardi's since the 70's. Last night I went back and had dinner. It was delicious. The atmosphere is fun in the bar and the bartenders are very nice. The restaurant is nice, white tablecloths, with the staff constantly checking on you. If you are in the theater district, stop by. You will not be disappointed.
One of the greatest Italian restaurants in nyc hands down. It is a nice dinner out, they always have open tables. The over 1,000 portraits of broadway stars on the wall is amazing. Also a hot spot for celebs who on broadway.
