Sandy Library

The Sandy Library is always popping with happy patrons (including me and my 12 year old son). The staff is friendly and helpful, and the facility is always tidy and clean. I also appreciate the availability of its free study rooms which are easy to reserve. The Sandy Library is a well utilized a d beloved resource for Sandy City.

Five stars for the selection, programmes, displays. It’s a good library. But ZERO for staffing this location with the worst sterotype of DMV government workers. Rigid, rule obsessed, rude and miserable. There’s a middle aged worker here who is so snappy and short if you ever disagree with her, ask questions about your account, use any sort of tone, not even being rude you have to walk on eggshells. She remembers every slight and will give you the cold shoulder like an immature teenager. I intentionally avoid her. The staff are also drama addicts who talk mad You Know What on customers and their own coworkers where customers can hear. Other libraries have friendly, flexible, understanding staffs.

I must agree with the individual who commented/complained about the computers and the kids… Although, I was able to find an open computer the few times I went. It’s really difficult to get anything done because, as was stated, the kids (not ALL teens, some are “tweens” for sure) swarm around the computers playing games and socializing. The staff issues warnings for them to quiet down, even threatening to kick them out, but then fails to monitor the area (thus, there’s no real follow through). Idle threats really don’t work. The fact that there’s a middle school across the street and this must have been going on for quite some time now shows that they (library staff) really needs to do something about the situation.

While the library is lovely; has amazing organization for everything & extremely well thought stuff all over – a lot of the staff is plain rude. When you ask a question; most of the ladies will answer as if they are doing you a favor. The events for preschoolers & kids that are planned are really interesting but the lady who usually conducts for both the groups is ..i don't have a right word for her.... She just doesn’t know what making someone comfortable means – there is a difference between being polite/nice & being really polite/nice. Most of the times she's the one doing all events and shows as if she’s doing favor by conducting the events, snaps at people(in her soft voice - hey ho it is still a snap) - why dont offload one group to another colleague so that she seems genuinely happy

Cute library. I wish I took more pictures in it but I came here to eat and work while there was construction going on at my house. It was so quiet and I felt so productive
