January 10, 2026 I really enjoy coming to this restaurant. It may be small but they cook with their heart and the food is really good .service by Diana and Gloria is excellent . And if you don’t like your dish, they will fix it. I always recommend and of course I always come back. Here’ are some pictures of today. The food was so good I had to tip the kitchen.
We have been ordering from Sandro's for years now and we enjoy their food. Their roast chicken combo is great. However, sadly it seems like recently their quality is slipping. We ordered a side of maduros with our meal today and about 70%+ or more of it was super dry and barely edible. Their plantains must have been rotting or super stale because I have never seen such a dry set of maduros in my life. My kids usually eat them and ask for more but today they were spitting them out. I tried it and had the same reaction. The rice, beans, and chicken were still good but something has to be done about the quality of their maduros. This is the first time we encounter this and hopefully the last.
***GUSANOS***MAGGOTS***ALERT*** At first I was all happy about finding this location. I normally go to POLLOS MARIO on Broadway. I ordered for pickup. And took it home to the next state where I live. I ate a little bit of the chicharrón but it was already 11pm. I left it for the next day. Upon reheating in a pan. I came across some things that weren’t there before. Never in my life did I think I would’ve seen MAGGOTS cooking out of the pork. We threw out everything. I called the store to let them know. The manager thanked me for letting him know and if I wanted a refund he would do so. That was less than 24 hours of buying. I called back today for a refund and he said he spoke to the owner and he said I should’ve said something the same day. I don’t want to argue with them. I am now taking
All dishes are delicious, it is my go to food in Astoria. My last order I got grilled ribs which comes with a large rice, beans, salad, classic green sauce, and on top of that I got two chicken empanadas. All this for just over $20.00 Give it a try if you live around the area 👌
I decided to get this randomly one night for takeout. I ordered the Entrana, it was absolutely delicious. It was seasoned so good, the rice was cooked beautifully, the salad it came with was dressed good too. It came with a big piece of entrana (skirt steak), rice and beans, and a salad. It was only $25.00! It was very big portions and very cheap. Would come here again 100%!
