Sandano's Italian Sub Shop

When you walk in the first thing you notice is the cleanliness and how well everything is organized. The young lady at the counter was very pleasant and repeated my order back to me to ensure my order was placed the way I wanted it. The music playing was at a level that was not overwhelming and allowed customers to talk to each other at a normal tone of voice. The decor is pleasing to the eye and is comfortable to sit on. There are pillows at ever table for those who may need on. There are games for both young and old to play while you wait for your food. The smell is AMAZING when you walk in from all of the food cooking. The food that I ordered did not take long to prepare. I ordered 2 12" Cheese Steaks, both with French fries. This is one of the best sandwiches I’ve had in the Richmond region, and it’s truly a local gem. I had a cheesesteak with fries and it was phenomenal. The house made pickles were a nice touch. The restaurant itself was very clean and the seating was comfortable. There was easy access to takeout boxes for leftovers as well as condiments. I’ll be back to try some of their other sandwiches!

I grew up in the Notheast NJ & NY, and lived in Chicago . I have been in places where competition for subs was intense. That competition resulted on high quality sub shops. Sandano's is absolutely as good, if not better, than any sub shop I have seen. The ingredients are top notch, the subs are stuffed full of meat, the taste is authentic and fantastic, and the owner puts his heart into the preparation. It is the ideal sub shop and a great value for what you get. I give it my highest recommendation.

I stopped at Sandano's on a quest to find a great cheese steak sandwich around the RVA area. I was convinced to try two styles: 1 -A hard sub roll with American cheese 2 - A soft sub roll with provolone cheese. I decided to only add mushrooms. Both tasted fantastic, piled with meat and flavored with cheese. Half of a sandwich was filling. I preferred the American cheese. I definitely recommend they be put on a must try sandwich list! Worth the drive. Oh, and the service left me saying to myself - I will be back.

A MUST TRY! Seriously one of the best Italian Hoagies I've ever had. I got the Sandano's Italian. The quality of the ingredients is top-notch. The flavors were absolutely delicious. This hoagie was a 10 out of 10. Even the preparation and the wrap were impressive. Thanks for making such a great product. I hope to get back for 1 more before I leave town this week.
