Samuel Fitch House

My friends and I stayed here for a wedding in late June 2018 and were treated to such a wonderful experience! We booked the Garden Suite and it was perfect. Or should I say, Lynne the innkeeper was perfect! We arrived really late (due to flight delays) and Lynne was great about communicating with us beforehand, accommodating our schedule (and requests) and arranging everything for us exactly as she described. It was like being over at your favorite aunt's house or something. The house is really charming (it's 300+ years old so there are some cool architectural features you don't see in modern houses), the beds were really comfortable, and Lynne really went out of her way to make us all feel so welcomed. My husband and I have stayed here two years in a row on our anniversary/his birthday weekend. Lynne is a fantastic innkeeper/hostess/chef! She really took the time to get in touch with us before our visit to be sure everything was going to be to our liking. She will make your visit what you wish... if you want the historic tour, you'll get it! If you want privacy and peace and quiet, she'll just be there when you need her. The house has wonderful character and charm and so much history. The fire was roaring when we arrived and the entire visit felt like a special getaway for us from work and the kids, even if it was only a few towns away. I would go just for breakfast if I could, homemade and delicious.

We held our wedding at Samuel Fitch House in September 2015. We stayed from Friday-Sunday and had the entire B&B to ourselves (and our small wedding party). It was the perfect location--the barn is gorgeous and the little area in the back (with a natural arch stand under) is perfect for a 100 person or so wedding. The owner, Lynne, helped with all the details of coordinating vendors arrivals and needs. We just loved it. It was great to have someone so reliable for our big day. ||||As for the stay, the house is just gorgeous. it is the perfect size for a weekend getaway with friends or a small family. I would 100% recommend it! I hope to come back with my husband and children one day to celebrate again.

History, relaxation, great food and hospitality, this place has something for everyone. Lynne is an unbelievable cook you'd think you were having breakfast at a 5 star restaurant. We've stayed twice in 2 different suites and loved them both. Nothing quite like sitting by a cozy fire that the early American settlers once used to cook their dinner. Plenty in the area to do and some great restaurants, even a brew pub or 2 not far away. A stay you won't regret.

This place is just the cutest! My girlfriends and I were looking for some peace and quiet for a long weekend, and the Samuel Fitch House delivered.The warmth of this charming, historical home put us all at ease—we laughed by the fireplace, indulged in Lynne's delicious home-made breakfasts, and tucked into our cozy bedrooms each night. Every little detail of this home away from home will make you smile, and there's even a photogenic barn for events! We'll be back. Thank you Lynne!
