Food Was FANTASTIC. We drove approximately 50 minutes for our meals and will definitely be doing it again and regularly. The owners are very kind & Attentive. Check up on us regularly. When in town you'll be missing out if you don't eat here. The place was extremely clean and the island Mac is to die for. Don't waste your time with the other place in town. Get the chicken with an extra scoop of Mac.
I’m from Las Vegas, lots of ethnic food options, so when we drove through Montpelier and saw Samson’s island grill had 5.0 stars, we had to stop by and see if it was legit. We can confirm…all 5 of my kids downed their plates….even the picky eaters. We had 2 combo and 2 chicken plates. And after ordering just 1 guava cake slice…it was also downed too fast, we had to order 2 more slices. Teriyaki sauce wasn’t too sweet or corn syrup-y. It just packed so much flavor, we put some on rice, chicken and pork. The macaroni salad was better than Mo Bettah’s cause it tasted fresher and not so heavy on mayonnaise. Come for the really good food. Way cool owner and son that make you feel so welcome. And don’t forget to order a slice of guava cake. Bonus: bathrooms were extremely clean!
My son and I really enjoyed their food. It was prepared fresh and the owners were amazing. We would definitely be coming back for more :)
Staying at a hotel, passing through. Ate here and we found the owner to be very friendly. The food was so delicious. I loved the macaroni, rice and corn beef brisket special. The homemade sauce was fabulous. Loved the guava cake dessert. Owner gave us a taste of the Pork and chicken. OMG… it was delicious. You got to go there, you will be amazed.
We saw the great reviews and decided to try it out while we were in town for the Huckleberry Festival. Wow! People were right. The pork was so tender and the chicken was cooked just right. The sauce they make to put on your food made the meal. The amount of food in the combo allowed us to get 2 meals out of it. Highly recommend this place!
