Sam’s Southern Eatery

Traveled from Texas for the Alexandria High school ROTC Drill meet and made a stop at Sam’s and the food was delicious 🤤. It was seasoned just right. The fried pickles were NOT soggy! In fact they were crispy and good. The grilled fish and shrimp is delicious and smelled so good. Next time we come back to visit we will most definitely stop at Sam’s to get great food.

This is a great place with friendly people , easy parking and fast service . The shrimp were large the red beans were well seasoned . I had their daily special 4 large wings and 4 jumbo shrimp and good cold slaw in addition to the red beans which were well seasoned. My wife had the green beans which were not special but good and the daily special. It is hard to get a feel for 5 stars. Yes , that is good but how good ? I think that it can be broken down into how far would you drive out of your way if you were just passing through. I would eat there again even if I had to detour up to 10 minutes.

This place is so cool! Mr Mo took real good care of us! I was new to southern eateries and everything about this place was amazing! The service was great, the ambience was authentic and the food was yum!… The shrimp , the fish (oh so good), the rice and beans! Yum!

We were passing through from Omaha, NE and stopped to eat here based on reviews we read. It definitely did not disappoint. My fiancé got grilled fish and grilled shrimp, which he said was great! I got a salad and added fries based on the recommendation of a staff member. When they dropped off the food they gave us two small cups of the house made sauce. It was so good! The fries were good enough to eat without sauce because the seasoning is so good, but I dipped a lot of them in the sauce anyways because it’s just that good. Stop and eat here if you get the chance.

We decided to stop in for a late lunch on our way back to Ft. Worth and we were SO glad that we did! The food is delicious! I had the fried fish with grilled shrimp and my husband had the fried fish with fried shrimp. Everything was fresh and hot and honestly so good. The prices were more than reasonable, the atmosphere was nice and clean and the staff were friendly. We will definitely be stopping here again while traveling through!
