We used to come here more frequently and really enjoyed the food and atmosphere. We stopped in yesterday and we ordered two types of pupusas, frijol con queso and revueltas. The pupusas had an even filling throughout, where we had bites of pure masa. We also ordered two types of pasteles, beef and papas. They were way overcooked and tiny as compared to before. The salsa was watered down and didn't have any taste to it and the curtido was not tasty. I'm sorry to say that the change in management has led to a change in quality of food and taste. We will not be coming back to this location. The inconsistent service from the staff was also upsetting. Some folks were being seated and others were ignored for a while.
I’ve been coming here for years. I realized I’ve never reviewed it. It’s very difficult to find a good pupusa place—especially, coming from LA and knowing people who can really make these. There’s a reason why I come here as often I can. The service is always great. I try to go during off times, due to this place getting so packed. Like always, I order a chicharron and a mixta. Of course, they have other great salvadorian dishes but I coke here for the pupusas. Absolutely delicious. Go. You won’t regret it.
I loved there food its was so good. Friendly waiter and cashier. The bathroom is not high tech but very clean. The thing I love most is that they had a step stool for my daughter to use. Its a small place but I would recommend to try something new here. I posted other pictures but I'm sorry I ate and drank it before taking a picture.lol we will return again.
Ordered 15 pupusas 5 asada , 5 chicharrón , 5 bean & cheese. Went home not realizing the lady gave me 5 Cheese and shrimp instead of bean and cheese i called and asked to come and fix it and they still wanted to charge me extra for the other 5 crazy! She even said it was her fault smh
This is my first experience with Salvadorian food in PHX and I was excited. We came here on recommendation and I honestly was let down. The food I ordered was not made correct but even then the food was not very good. I ordered the spicy for two dollars more and I asked for Habanero but it came as jalapenos. It was super filling though. I had a Popusa and it didn't live up to what I thought it would be. I had an horchata but remember it is Salvadorean food and not Mexican. It's not at all like the one in the Mexican places. I wish I had asked to taste it beforehand. The fruit drink was good though. I recommend if you are familiar with this food to go but it's just not for me. They also had no AC and there was just fans going. It's too hot for this and we were rushed out because they close
