A great restaurant in the center of Cohasset. The service was excellent and very friendly. They have a large menu with a lot of options. Everything we tried was delicious. The Cesar salad was so good and the fresh raw oysters were great. The chicken sandwich was also good. It is a nice spot for a cozy dinner.
Been here 3 times now, have ordered tuna nachos, baked crispy cod , harborman sushi roll and the salmon dinner. All fabulous! I don’t think there’s a bad item on the menu. Service is timely and courteous. Management is excellent and will correct anything amiss. Fair warning though, this is a local family favorite. If you get there around 5 pm, you most certainly will have a few super loud kids nearby. Better to sit on the bar side of the restaurant.
I really wanted to like this place, and I mostly did. My mother and I got the veggie dumplings that were amazing and so were her California rolls. Unfortunately though, I ordered a poké bowl and the rice was still rather warm, to the point you could feel the heat through the bowl. I hate complaining because it seems like most of the restaurants I've been to in the area have disappointed me. ***But, I wanted to make aware that poké rice is not meant to be hot or warm as it's a food safely hazard, what with the raw fish on top. I tried to take most of it home to chill the rest of the way in the fridge. Sadly though, the smell wasn't right after it cooled and I threw most of it away.*** Lastly, the creme brulee was nice and creamy and the sugar wasn't burnt on top like most places you go...
We like the food, although some seemed a little expensive. The wine was just too expensive for us, so we haven't returned and keep hoping they'll add a house wine for $8 or $9 a glass. The 3* it's just because they could sharpen their pencils and do much better pricing with the wine list.. there are so so many very good inexpensive wines. Corbett Canyon comes to mind... there are a lot of them.
The spices of the cod sandwich were light to not remove focus from how fresh the fish was. The clam chowder was some of the best I’ve ever eaten. With hints of smoked bacon, perfectly executed. We ended up buying a quart since it was so good. Owner was super friendly and came to talk with us, great guy who really knows his stuff. We loved the meal and we would make the drive for it again.
