My recent visit to Salt + Charcoal was absolutely incredible for my birthday experience, from the moment we walked in, the ambiance was perfect cozy, intimate, and ideal for a special occasion. The food, a unique fusion of a Japanese steakhouse and grill, was sensational. We started with the tuna tartare which was incredibly fresh and beautifully prepared by our waiter. The diced avocado and wasabi provided the perfect amount of creaminess and kick, and rolling it ourselves in the crispy nori sheets added a fun, interactive touch to the Japanese style preparation. The oysters were an absolute amazing. They arrived sizzling, bathed in a rich, flavorful soy butter garlic sauce with a pop of fresh cilantro and lime zest. Food was Amazing. For the Appetizer we had the Crunchy Oyster which was tasty. We followed that up with the 30 day Dry aged porterhouse steak for 2 with a sides of S+C baked potatoes. For drinks we had the Pineapple Express. Food and drinks was a 5 outta 5! Will recommend
I cannot think about the food without getting slightly lightheaded from the pure pleasure it gave me. This is a masterclass on how good ingredients prepared exceptionally well can bring pure joy. Flawless! The only fault I could find was that the restrooms could use a thorough clean the ligh switch was dusty and looked grimy but the food made up for everything. They can take all my money going forward.
The best experience! Unexpectedly had to find the place for dinner-celebration for my husband's birthday! We had an amazing time! We ordered a couple appetizers: wague and the custard egg with truffle and for dinner new York strip and loaded potatoes and it was the most delicious thing we ever had!
This completely exceeded my expectations. The Wagyu was rich but balanced, cooked beautifully, and served in a way that let the quality speak for itself. You can tell a lot of intention went into every detail. I’d happily come back just for this.
