Salsa Cafe Restaurant

I was there off peak so it was empty, but the atmosphere was still there. It's set up like a lounge and has a great living room feel. It looks great for Friday nights, sporting events etc...I ordered a Cuban and a Papaya smoothie. The Cubano was toasted to perfection with the right combo of ingredients, it was top notch. The hero is extra large, definitely alot if bang for the buck. The Papaya smoothie was phenomenal! Come here and enjoy!

Don’t let the word chimi fool you — this isn’t a sandwich, it’s a culinary prank. The bread has the personality of a roll of paper towels, and the meat? Imagine the sole of your old gym shoes — if they’d been marinated in disappointment since last Christmas. Dry, overcooked, and flavorless, it’s less of a meal and more of a crime scene. I’ve had better luck chewing on my car’s seatbelt.

The service is 0/10. The lady there is beyond rude. Hangs up the phone on you. Isn’t nice when you walk in. The food isn’t even that good for the service to be so poor. Also the amount of meat you get for the price you pay is insane. She gave me 3 oxtails & a mountain of rice. For 2 plates & 2 sodas I spent over $50. Not worth it. Yesterday was my last time giving this establishment any of my money. Do yourself a favor & pass on this place. There’s better Dominican food & service out there!

Based on the reviews maybe I caught it today on a bad day. Our food was extremely extremely greasy. We’re Puerto Rican and Dominican, and we know mangu has its fair share of oil but this was a lot. My Cuban sandwich tasted like salt and grease. I gave it the three stars because the customer service is great. That’s really just it.
