Had a great meal at Salkara Indian Restaurant. They specialize in Kerala / South Indian food, and everything we tried was spot on. The menu includes classics like dosas and idli, along with standout dishes such as the tawa fish and mango fish curry. The flavors were very flavorful but still light, which I really appreciated nothing felt heavy or overly oily. The coconut chutney was very fresh, and the lime pickle had a great punch to it. On top of that, the staff was friendly and welcoming. Definitely a solid spot for South indian food in the area

Off the hook. The dum biryani is the highlight for me with a lot of different flavors all in sync. Aromatics, herbs, onions, raisins, cashews. Plus the chicken with the raita together is so good. Each plate is prepared fresh. So the texture of the rice is just right and you get all the subtle flavors coming together. Tastes like home cooking, definitely made with a lot of love.

A wonderful place to enjoy authentic Kerala-style food! The dishes were flavorful and tasted just like home. The ambience was pleasant, and the service was friendly and prompt. Overall, a great spot for anyone looking to experience delicious Kerala cuisine. Highly recommended!

Salkara Indian Restaurant in Nanuet is a must visit for anyone looking to try authentic Indian food, specifically South Indian food. We ordered pidi with chicken curry, and the taste was very reminiscent of when we had it back home in Kerala. Will definitely be coming back :)
