Salazar's Cafe

One of the best New Mexican meals I have had in a long time. The atmosphere was quaint, the service was fantastic and the food knocked out socks off. So much flavor wrapped up in every bite. The couple that runs this place could not be more welcoming and kind. If you're in the Salt Lake area and are looking for a good New Mexican meal, Salazar's Cafe is THE place to go.

Stopped in for lunch today and was impressed with both the food and service. Had a pork tamale and beef enchilada and both were fantastic. Came with rice and whole pinto beans which I prefer over the mashed refried beans and all were delicious. The salsa was also some of the best I’ve had locally. Highly recommend giving this little family run place a chance if you haven’t been here before as you won’t regret it one bit.

The food is absolutely delicious and the service is excellent. But my favorite part is the atmosphere. You feel like you're really eating good Mexican food in a good Mexican restaurant. Also do not skip the beans. They are the best in the city.

This place is excellent! The food has such great flavor. I had the beef enchilada and a jalapeño and cheese tamale with rice and beans. The flavor was rich with just the right amount of heat. I can't wait to go back and get the chile verde. The atmosphere is great...small and unassuming. It's like sitting at a family dinner.

I NEVER leave reviews but I had to for this place. The most amazing food I've had possibly ever. I used to go to la Frontera but I can honestly say never again. That's no knock on la Frontera but this place is just so good, so fresh, amazingly friendly staff. And I almost forgot, very reasonable prices. A killer meal for 1 out the door with a 25% tip was $22.
