Salam cafe is a beautiful little gem of a restaurant. The food here is phenomenal packed with flavor! Their shakshuka was delicious and the homemade injera (a type of spongey bread) was so good! You gotta come and don’t miss out on dessert the chocolate baklava was incredible! This place was so good and if you are in the area you should definitely check it out ❤️
First time trying Ethiopian food and I LOVEDDDD IT!!! The girl who prepared my platter was super sweet! The portions were perfect. Everything was definitely worth the price I paid :)
Stopped with a friend and this cuisine is new to us. The woman explained things and brought us a little sample of a few things so we could see what we liked and that we ordered something we could handle the spice level of. We sampled, ordered our lunches and everything was out of this world delicious. The chickpeas were my favorite part, such a wow flavor. We will definitely be going back.
I visited Salam Café in Philadelphia on Saturday, November 15 with my best friend Marla, and it was such a memorable experience. It was our first time enjoying Ethiopian food, and being able to indulge with our fingers felt fun, authentic, and comforting. The injera bread was so unique and flavorful, and every dish was beautifully seasoned. The atmosphere was warm with plenty of seating, and the convenience of public parking right across the street made the visit even better. If you’re looking to try something new with great vibes and amazing food, Salam Café is definitely worth the trip. Highly recommend! 🍽️✨
The best tasting Ethiopian food in Philadelphia although much pricier than other restaurants (over $60 for 2 people hence 3 star rating instead of 5). Their prices for 2 used to be much more reasonable and competitive, so sadly we will not be coming ( unless a special occasion) given the new pricing of over $30 per person for one main course each...no dessert, appetizer or beer! They are even more expensive than the ethiopian restaurant in Ardmore! The meals used to be under $20 each at Salam. We were not given a menu (dishes are now priced closer to $25 each instead of the usual $15), so we were unaware of the large increase in price. The food was spiced to perfection. We had the special tibs in spiced butter and doro wot. The food never misses the mark! The doro wot comes with tw
