This place was so good that we ended up visiting a second time to try some other items on the menu. The portion sizes are massive and the quality is better than most is the restaurants I went to during my extensive trip to Tbilisi last year. At the time of our visit they did not serve and alcohol but you can bring your own.
I just recently came back from a trip to Georgia (the country) and I immediately went into this restaurant once I saw its name! Sakartvelo is the real name for the country of Georgia. I went in and was greeted by a beautiful lady at the counter. She was very knowledgeable on the menu and once I explained what I wanted to get, she guided me through the options. I got th khachapuri with the egg on top - so delicious and authentic - just like the one I had during my trip! There were not many people for lunch and my take out was ready within 15 minutes. I would absolutely go back to try the rest of the food now that I have found where I can get the things I liked! Give it a try - try something different...and tasty!
First time at a Georgian restaurant so I have no point of reference but everything was delicious. For appetizers we got the georgian bread, khinkali beef & pork dumplings, and the pkhali trio (spinach, beet, and eggplant—spinach was our favorite). The dumplings were huge! Loved them. For entrees we got the kharcho beef soup, chikirtma chicken soup, and the lamb mtsvadi. The soups were my personal favorites. Friendly and quick service.
An elegant and cozy restaurant with a welcoming atmosphere. It was our first time trying Georgian cuisine and it was delicious. We tried the red bean soup (Loboe), the cheese boat (similar to pizza), the ground lamb skewer (flavorful with spices), Tarragon soda (very unique!) And the honey walnut layer cake. Everything was served fresh & hot. Prices are reasonable and portions plentiful. Attentive, friendly service. (My only minor criticism is that the red bean soup was served in a clay pot and it stayed too hot for a very long time. Ask for a second bowl with this!) Highly recommended.
Great affordable food with good portion sizes. Chicken/Salmon were cooked excellently and were very tender. Points off for service being very slow and the atmosphere being kind of sterile and cold.
