I opted for the dinner set because there’s so many options but this was the best balance of trying different things at a fixed price. My favorite was the potato salad which came in a sphere shape and you’re supposed cut it in half with a spoon, mix and mash it altogether. There’s like a preserved egg yolks with ikura, potato as the outer layer and seasoning. It’s definitely creative and fun. Next on my favorite was the tempura. Perfectly fried and the veggies/ seafood they used was crisp. Love that they provided different types of salt. The tuna cuts weren’t my favorite because the way it was cut, there was lots of tendon making it hard to chew. The stir fries soba was tasty and filling (and a bit greasy) But otherwise, I really enjoyed my set dinner menu. Service was attentive though I
Stopped by for a late lunch (right when dinner started) , the sushi was prepared very quickly and the tasted pretty fresh. I really enjoy the experience and I am expecting to come back, the price was little pricy, but not unexpected for good sushi They accidentally gave us an extra order, but gave no issue on not charging us. Overall a good experience
Straightforward and delicious sushi. Lots of places don’t have toro so pleased to find Sakabyashi Sushi Tavern. The cuts were not perfect but the fish was legit. Definitely coming back for more tuna! Space was new and clean. Service was great. Perfect place for solid sushi and a good selection.
The best, most affordable high quality sushi I've had. Love love love their unique rice. Their lunch course menu is probably the best deal you can get in town. Wish I had more pictures of the food we ate but all of us were too busy scarfing down our food.
Disappointed. Food was not fresh. Uni and scallops had an odd taste. The tuna tartare reminds me of mashed potatoes. Everything was mushy you can't tell what you are eating. The bread was soft and warm though. Presentation felt like you went to Kura. The fish was sliced incorrectly and tendons were so thick that you can't even chew through it. We ordered appetizers and they came after we finish our meal. Service was extremely slow, we even forgot an order and almost left.
