Sa La Thai restaurant

Soooo good! We had the lemongrass soup, the spring rolls, Pad Thai with Chicken and Thai Ginger Pork. We happened to arrive just as they opened at 5, service and food was prompt & courteous. The lemongrass soup (Tom Yum, as it is usually called) came in 1 person sized portions and was full of vegetables cooked just to a crisp. The spring rolls came with a lovely version of the chili sauce, and the ginger pork and the Pad Thai were amazing (the ginger pork, again, had lots of crunchy vegetables and a sauce that was so delicious I would eat just that on rice!) the restaurant takes up the front section of two of the long narrow townhouses Lancaster city is well known for, and decorated in charming Thai style with carved screens and paintings.

It was AMAZING!!!! We called ahead to ask if we can bring a birthday cake...they said of course!! They took it and kept it chilled! So attentive! So kind!! Food was amazing!!! Portions were huge! We had 2 young children with us and they embraced the situation. This is truly a fantastic place and you must go!!!

My second visit as an out-of-towner and I will make return visits a priority. While the interior decor is a bit staid, it is clean and the rest of the dining experience is exceptional. Wonderful, welcoming staff provided us ordering recommendations and checked on us frequently. I would give their food six stars if I could. Absolutely delicious!

Always fantastic food — authentic ingredients made to order. Beautiful presentation of ample portions. So flavorful and filling — I always feel good after eating here! The servers are very polite and accommodating. The ambiance is warm and welcoming, but rather dim with forgettable decor. Excellent value for the price!

This is the third time we've ordered takeout here, and the third time my dish comes almost half empty. Our food is pretty good, but this place is already $2-3 dollars more per entree than other similar restaurants in the area so to have a much smaller portion just widens that gap. For comparison, I get the same dish, ordered the same way, at Eastern Palace for $16.95 and it comes in a 32oz soup container with rice on the side. The same order from Sa La Thai is $18.95, comes in a 16oz bowl also with rice on the side, and is half empty on top of that. I'd be happy with this portion if the price reflected the serving size, but at this rate it's just not justifiable to continue ordering here.
