Runza Restaurant

We tried Runza a few years back and were hooked. Unfortunately, they don't have any in Texas. When I saw that there was one in Lawrence I knew we had to stop. It was well worth it. I highly recommend the Mushroom Swiss Runza. Pro-tip: have them add onions. Soo yummy!

Onion rings 5 Jr buffalo wrap 4 Watermelon lemonade refresher 5 the watermelon refresher was amazing!! Only thing better would be a slush in that flavor. Fish sandwich 5 the fish sandwich was among the best I’ve had yet in fast food, very good! Bread was soft and fresh. Service was friendly and fast, instead was very clean and pleasant

About once or twice a year I get a Runza itch, this time triggered by a picture of a calzone I scrolled passed on social media. No, Runza are not calzones, but my gut biome works in mysterious (and often nefarious) ways. Portions are big. Food hit the spot. The Lawrence location is clean and friendly. See you again in 6-12 months when I scroll upon picture of a dumpling and my gut bacterial overlords remember "Runza!" and guide me back.

Driving through Kansas and wanted to try something different. Decided to try Runza. The Runza sandwich turned out not to be my thing (wasn't bad. Just not my preference). But the frings (fried and onion Rings together were delicious and the ranch was top tier. Plus the place was very clean (bathroom Included) and all the staff (interacted with 3 people) were soooooooooooo nice!

I'd forgotten how good these are. I went to KU in the late 80's and had them often. We were back in the area, and when I saw the restaurant, I had to stop. Great food and wonderful onion rings. We ended up buying extra to take home for the next day.
