Rudee's Restaurant and Cabana Bar

As a Marine veteran, Rudee’s holds a special place in my heart. I was stationed in Virginia Beach back in 2018, and this was one of the go-to spots for me and my buddies after long days. Whether we were unwinding over cold drinks or crushing plates of fresh seafood, it was always a place that felt easy, welcoming, and exactly what you want when you’re near the water. Coming back years later, I’m happy to say Rudee’s Restaurant and Cabana Bar is just as good as I remembered. The atmosphere still has that perfect waterfront vibe. Sitting out overlooking the marina brings back a lot of memories, but it also felt like a totally new experience sharing it with someone special. The seafood was fresh, flavorful, and done right. 10/7/25 - came here on a Sunday. The parking has valet which I used. They have two options of seating inside the building or on the cabana in the swinging beaches. We sat outside on the swinging benches which was nice. The food was pretty good. I got the breakfast down with fried oysters. Reminded me of Rockefeller oysters with a twist. I ordered the she crab soup, which was delicious. Great thickness to it. I also got the sunflower drink, which was great in flavor and nice amount of alcohol. They have happy hours special on drinks. Service was also great. Would like to come back to try some more things.

Nice waterfront place to eat. Nice views & cute outdoor gliding seats. Service was prompt & friendly. Food was hot & fresh & was very good. Pricing was comparable to other places in the area. Valet parking avaliable. Lots of road construction in the area so you will have to find an alternate way to them but it wasn't that difficult.

WOW! What an amazing place this is! I was here in 2008 and would’ve never had it on my Goose card to make it back. Well shout out to great friends for memories & the idea to head back while in town! I couldn’t have asked for a better staff, environment, cuisine, & scenery to end a stop in Virginia Beach! Thanks to Ashley for honoring the Golden Goose celebrity status and posing for a pic! The cuisine was simple with amazing home made bread & some of the best New England Clam Chowder I’ve had in years! I wish that was a place closer to me and if I am ever going to be back in Virginia Beach, this will be a stop on the visit!

My wife and I went here for a nice Sunday brunch and it was delightful! Perfect weather, relaxed atmosphere, wonderful service and the food was delicious. My wife had the Urbanna Breakfast Bowl and it was HUGE and delicious! I myself had the Shrimp & Grits. Our server, Chelsea was an absolute delight. She was friendly, enthusiastic and very quick. She was helpful answering questions and making suggestions. Overall, it was a wonderful experience and we will definitely be back.
