R.U.B. Rotisserie Urban Bistro

Visiting from Texas and this food was so delicious. The rice and beans were cooked correctly. My chicken was flavorful. The cucumber yogurt side was a great addition. The only critique I gave was that the plantains were hard. Other than, almost perfection. My husband had the pork sandwich without the arugula and he thought it was pretty good. And he's very picky so that's good. I ate my food too fast to get a picture. 😆

We had high hopes because of all the reviews we've read. Unfortunately, we left deeply disappointed. The chicken was so dried out and flavorless and the rice had been sitting so long that some rice grains were crunchy. The sauces are the only reason the food was somewhat edible. We visited with four people in our party and no one was able to eat more than 1/3 of what we were served. To make matters worse, my daughter had food poisoning. I would not recommend eating here.

Fantastic food. My favorite are the rice bowls. Their proteins and addons are all high quality and delicious! We love to get RUB for a quick and healthy meal that tastes so good!

This place has my whole heart. They are always so nice and the food just feels like home. You will not be disappointed! The soup in the winter and the the chicken sandwich during the rest of the year are my go to! So flavorful and delicious. This post was made in connection with a Toast Promotion

I used to LOVE Rub. I mean, I really really loved it. I'm glad I waited to post a review though-- because Rub needs to know this. What you guys did to your shredded beef is heartbreaking. It used to be that their shredded beef was rich, teeming with flavor, and utterly delicious. But now, instead of just beef, they overcook a ton vegetables and mix it in-- creating a watery, bland end result which is 70% vegetables/water and can only be compared to canned beef and vegetable soup. What used to be nominally overpriced but incredibly tasty, is now egregiously overpriced and mediocre at best. I used to come to this restaurant 2 or 3 times a month. Now I don't know if I will ever come back. It's an extremely disappointing turn of events.
