Roy's Fish Fry

My husband went to Roy's to pick up dinner. He ordered me crab cakes, mac and cheese and potato salad. The crab cake was soft and mushy because it wasn't cooked and dripped oil! The mac n cheese look like oils soup! I'm so disappointed in the food and whomever was in the kitchen! If I find a way to post pictures, you be able to see the visual.

Very slowwwwwwwww service !!!!! The table across from us got their food first !!!!!! Food is great though! Huge servings however , waitress friendliness / customer skills needs a lot of improvement !!!!

Ordered on doordash and they forgot a whole order of fish on top of that the food wasn’t even good. Not a lick of any seasoning on the greens. Crab cakes nasty. Whiting was okay. Would’ve loved to try the Catfish they forgot. Shrimp was probably the best but the order was cold so whatever

The other day I ordered, Roy’s Fish Fry, for lunch. I ordered their 2pc Whiting w/ String Beans and a side of Mac n Cheese. The lady who took my order was really nice, and she also threw in another piece of fish. The fish was ok in flavor, they were just really small in size. I was extremely disappointed in the string beans due to them being really salty. Could barely finish them. The Mac n Cheese greatly impacts my total score. Not that it was the best Mac or anything, just that it actually had pretty good flavor and texture. The cheeses maybe could’ve been blended a little better, but I enjoyed the Mac n Cheese. All in all, I don’t think I’d try this place again. But if you’re in the Newark area, and looking for some quick seafood, try out, Roy’s Fish Fry.

The food is delicious!! I've only had the fried whiting, macaroni and cheese, and collard greens. The fish is fresh, lightly fried and flaky just how I like it. Macaroni & cheese is just cheesy enough and the collards are seasoned well. I wish they would cut them off the stems, though. 😉 I will continue to support and refer Roy's.
