I give this place a 10 out of 10 the garlic naan was amazing the butter chicken was delicious it was all hot and fresh love the friendly service will go back again

I wasnt expecting 5 star service but this was basically 3rd world service. I ordered lamb vindaloo and chicken masala and kulfi for dessert. Usually, legit Kulfi comes in a bowl with pistachios or whatever on it. What i got (for 6 dollars) was literally a kulfi-flavored popsicle.. the kind you could buy at walmart, and when i opened it, it was freezerburned on the inside- completely covered in ice crystals. The vindaloo tasted like ketchup, and the masala tasted like marinara. The meat was old and off-tasting too. I couldnt eat more than a couple bites. WAY overpriced, poor quality- like i was imagining to myself i could get like... canned vindaloo and masala from some dollar general store sale bin or something that would be better than this crap. I love Indian food but have not been able to enjoy it in a restaurant without traveling 2+ hours. Royal Restaurant is still an hour from where I live but I had heard great things so my wife and I took a chance on a lunch-date trip to Prestonsburg to try it. We arrived a few minutes before they opened so we had a chance to walk around the building and appreciate the cool architecture. A plaque on the building dates it to 1931. After they opened we walked up the steps and into a really well designed and decorated lobby. Large windows provided plenty of natural light and the tables were arranged to allow plenty of room. The food was wonderful. The rice was fluffy and cooked perfectly. We had 6 in our party and all reported their food was perfect. The Samoa appetizers were very good. The nan was a hit too. One of our party was very reluctant to try the restaurant, having never eaten Indian food before. She loved the Butter Chicken, mild and tasty. It was a wonderful find in a town not know to us. We live 200 miles from there and wondered in.
