Really loved this place! I did not know what I expected in this small town at the base of the blue ridge parkway but they really delivered! The wine list, the cocktails, the beers on draft! Tried all three and loved each one I tried! Thai basil and cilantro with Roku gin? Yum! And so many great beers to try!! Plus they do half pours for wine and beer — thank you!! My salad was sooo good! The pizza too! Just go! You will love it! We had just finished driving the parkway and hiking and I was worried I wouldn’t be dressed nicely enough but they are casual while still feeling upscale. Super friendly and great service!

September 19,2025 Root & Vine is such a standout spot in downtown Morganton! From the moment we walked in, the atmosphere felt warm and inviting, with just the right mix of energy and comfort. The food was absolutely fantastic—the chicken tacos were perfectly seasoned and fresh. To go with it, the strawberry lemonade martini was refreshing and creative, the perfect balance of sweet and tart. What really made the meal special was the service. Our waitress, Madii, was a true superstar—attentive, fun, knowledgeable about the menu, and genuinely friendly. She made excellent recommendations and checked in often enough to make us feel cared for. Easy parking, friendly and welcoming staff not stuffy like sometimes in other high-end restaurants There is a lot of thoughts into the food and cooking, based on local produce and sustainable partnerships: for example I had the (generous portion of) lion's mane entree after the fried oysters as an appetizer. All was delicious and the oysters had the right level of spyciness ! Wine pairing and choise was great too.

Really cute spot on town. We were there toward the end of lunch. Got that zatar chicken. I may not have fully read the description but was surprised to find out it was a sandwich. I would have liked this meal better as a platter. Everything tasted great, I just personally didn't love it as a sandwich. The fries were excellent! Service was ok. They were under staffed it seemed so I'm sure it is better when they have enough people.
