Review - 2026-01-28 - RockStarr BBQ For today’s ROMEO (Retired Old Men Eating Out) Club adventure we decided to take a chance on a restaurant that Apple Maps says is permanently closed. (It was wrong.) The RockStarr BBQ Restaurant is located in Reeder’s Alley, which is a destination of its own. Reeder’s Alley is a neighborhood of the oldest buildings in Helena, Montana. A red brick walkway runs up the hill right through the middle of these log and red brick buildings. We parked at the bottom of the hill and noticed the sign showing us we were there. But looking around we couldn’t tell which of these cool old buildings was RockStarr BBQ. The owner, Chris, noticed us looking around and greeted us from the newly built deck at the top of a long lumber stairway. We slowly ascended the stairway

Went in with a group of 9, and these guys absolutely exceeded every expectation. The service and food were phenomenal! Our group ordered a good variety from the menu, and everything we tried was amazing. I got the pork ends rice bowl, and I swear I’ll never find one as delicious anywhere else. Even the kids loved their meals! 1000/10, if we’re ever in Helena again, we’ll definitely be back. It’ll be hard to find another BBQ experience that tops this one.

my fiancé & i went right when they opened. David was so friendly! we got street tacos with pulled pork & a pulled pork sandwich. the food was incredible, so savory, tasty, flavorful, & full of brightness. make sure to try the apricot BBQ sauce, it was awesome! the atmosphere is so welcoming & cozy. the price was reasonable for the portions, definitely very full after! we will definitely come back next time we visit Helena!

My husband and I had a date night at one of their wine tasting events. It was the perfect evening out with an all inclusive price of a hot delicious BBQ and wine tasting. Compete with a wine connoisseur to explain the subtle flavors for each wine and some really fun conversations with fellow wine enthusiast. I highly recommend for any meal when you are craving some BBQ.

Thank you for the wonderful meal! My coworkers and I each enjoyed the rice bowls and it was scrumptious! I had the tri-tip and was able to sample the brisket and both were incredibly tender! The vegetables were perfectly pickled and added to the flavor of the bowl immensely. Finally, the veggie, meat, sauce, and rice ratios were perfect which really rounded out the meal. The only problems were 1. That I have not eaten here sooner and 2. That I had a little bit of difficulty finding the place.
