Roadside Grill

We've visited at lunchtime four or five times now. Food is fresh, cooked to order and service has always been top notch. It's only about 30 minutes from our home, and worth the drive. Best catfish I've had since moving here 5 years ahmgo. Specials every day. Friday night steak specials - great.

I hate to give a good review because I love this place. Don't ya'll come here on the same days as me! It is one of the best places for a good meal anywhere near Gadsden and reasonably priced. The servers were polite quuck to please, even to the point of anticipating our needs. Piedmont is about an hour from Gadsden but well worth the drive! We ate from the buffet which included choice of 5 desserts.

Maybe just a bad day, but ...... we ordered 2 BBQ sandwiches with fries. Our table was dirty, I asked the waitress to wipe it down, but it never happened. We waited over an hour for our food, no silverware, no napkins..nothing. Who serves BBQ with no napkins? We recieved a gift card for Christmas, so thankfully we didnt have to pay for it.

I had high hopes for this place, but was let down. I know they just opened and I hope they can improve. We walked in and the atmosphere is just a bit odd. It’s a black room that’s very loud and echoey. We ordered the Brisket Nachos about 20 minutes before our food and it still came out with the rest of our food, which defeats the purpose of an appetizer. The nachos looked good but the chips (more like whole grain crackers) were just a little weird. I ordered a bacon cheeseburger and my son ordered a kids cheeseburger, when they brought them out we couldn’t tell which was which because they were both the same size and neither had bacon. We ordered 2 sandwiches with fries to go. Asked for crispy fries, double cooked. Both of our orders of fries were old, cold, soggy, half-cooked, and inedible. We didn't eat them. My BLT was pretty good, but super messy and hard to eat. Their bread is pretty small. You also have to put your own mayo on it with little packs. We also got the shrimp po-boy which was okay, but cold. Will not be eating here again. Prices are a little too high, as well.
