River to River Bakery & Pizza

I had the gluten-free meat lovers pizza and it was delicious. The staff is very welcoming and helpful. My husband had the chicken parm sandwich and loved it. We both enjoyed the nostalgia of the Mortal Kombat and NBA Jam arcade games too.

We were killing time before a show in Waukee and drove around the square here. We saw this place and tried it. The chicken parm sandwich was excellent and the gluten-free pizza my wife had was great too. Totally recommend!

Bagel is the best. Crispy skin, chewy dough and full of wheat aroma. Great to eat plain without toppings and enjoy the pure carbs happiness. Donuts are standard flavor and fluffy. Pizzas are very mediocre. The owner is really nice and sweet. They make cute buns for Easter Day. Not perfect but cute and warm.

Drove from Waukee to Adel. It was well worth the short trip. The pizza is excellent, better than any chain or even most Des Moines local pizza restaurants. Pricing was very reasonable. Staff is very friendly.

Was in the area for a wedding and I looked up bakery as I wanted something sweet. I expected there to be many cases of baked goods as pics had shown but there was just a few things. I chose a peanut butter cookie, a yeast donut and a cake donut. The cookie had a sprinkle of salt and chopped nuts on it. Good but it was fairly soft, falling apart and no chew in it. The yeast donut was substantial, a bit heavy but a very nice flavor. The chocolate cake donut was very small and dense and not very tender. I would not get the cake donut again.
