River-Room Restaurant

We recently celebrated our anniversary dinner at The River Room Restaurant, and it was absolutely perfect from start to finish. Joni was amazing in helping us organize our special evening in the ballroom- she went above and beyond to make everything feel so thoughtful and personal. To make the night even more special, Guru, who had been the bartender at our wedding, was our supervisor and server for the evening. He actually remembered us and our signature drinks! That small but meaningful gesture made the experience feel so personal and heartwarming. Guru’s service was exceptional- attentive, kind, and truly genuine. The food was incredible, the atmosphere was beautiful, and the entire evening was filled with such warmth and care. Guru even gave us a dessert with ‘Happy Anniversary’ beau

What a beautiful restaurant! My friend and I had a wonderful lunch, celebrating our birthdays. We enjoyed a delicious soup, followed by fresh salads and protein, and a scoop of gelati. Everything was plated beautifully and tasted even better! Markesh was our waiter and so wonderful. He kept our coffee cups filled and served us so kindly. We weren't rushed, which was exactly what we needed, as two lifelong friends, had much to catch up on. This may have been our first time, but definitely won't be the last!

Based on my first experience here I feel people of color might receive special treatment. We called ahead to make a reservation and requested a seat with the river view. On the phone we were told that the reservation is confirmed but the riverside tables are first come first served basis. When we got there, the host asked if we had a reservation, we said yes, without even checking for it she took us to a table in the middle of the room. There were plenty of tables against the glass with great views to the river that were empty. When we asked if we can get those, she said she’ll have to “check” if those are available. 5-7 minutes later we were given a table in the corner of the hall from where only 2 of the 4 people could see the river. There were still other tables with better views that

No Americans Welcome! This was our very first trip to Canada and in the afternoon after a quick drink the very welcoming bar lady convinced us to come for dinner for the lamb shank. We returned but unfortunately the hostess created such an unpleasant experience we just can’t bring ourselves to give these guys anything positive. Everyone in Winsor has been exceptionally welcoming but this hostess should be fired as this was really an us v them situation and they just don’t want Americans in the building. BTW we are actually South African citizens so makes it even more inexcusable! Great food was ruined by poor employees.

We both had the Black Cod, a special dish available only this weekend. We really enjoyed it; a light, delicate fish, full of flavour with veggies. It was very good. I hope they add it to the menu. Thanks to Chef Stan for letting us know about it with his video knowledgeable social media.
