Riva is a hidden gem in Gan. It's large, open spaces are comfortable and beautifully designed. Whether you want a giant roaring fireplace with an elegant ambiance or a more relaxed tavern vibe, Riva has it covered. The food is primarily Italian of course but the menu is diverse with something for everyone. Steak was excellent and my family couldn't keep their hands off my fries! The Carbonara was top!Service was excellent and all the staff were very accommodating. Prices were reassuringly affordable so I didn't have to escape through any of the large windows that offered a splendid view. Outdoor seating also available in season. Great place for a date or special occasion or just to treat yourself. Will definitely return.

I had the most wonderful evening at this rustic Italian restaurant. From the moment we arrived, the atmosphere and ambiance set the perfect tone — cozy, inviting, and absolutely charming. The food was delicious, each dish bursting with authentic flavour, and the desserts were nothing short of delectable — the perfect sweet ending to a memorable meal. But what truly made the evening exceptional was the service. Alyssa was absolutely phenomenal — attentive, warm, and intuitive without ever being intrusive. She made us feel genuinely cared for, and her impeccable service elevated the entire experience. Everything was on point, from start to finish, and I could not have been happier. Our waitress was super bubbly, friendly, professional, and prompt. She brought every meal quickly, asked all the right questions, and was super knowledgeable about the menu. She talked effortlessly about the different choices on the menu which allowed us to make an informed meal choice. My husband and I loved our experience from wine to dessert, everything was five stars. We had the escargot, truffle fries, and split the carbonara pasta. I had a Riesling to drink from the Niagara region as well as we highly recommend the on the blood orange cheesecake dessert. We will definitely be returning for another meal and hopefully we’ll be lucky enough to have the same sweet, blond waitress.

Everything from beginning to end was outstanding. The ambiance, the service, the FOOD! Oh my gosh, I will be dreaming of the calamari for weeks. The garlic aioli was to die for. The lobster roll was excellent, they used the best parts of the lobster and they didn’t scrimp. My mom had the smoked meat sandwich and loved it. I highly recommend Riva and will definitely come back!

The restaurant is super cute and has a homey atmosphere. We ordered three different pastas, the squid ink, gnocchi, and cavatelli, all three were delicious. We also tried the calamari and tiramisu…the calamari wasn’t over cooked and I can understand why the tiramisu (not captured) is a popular item!
