Rita's Italian Ice & Frozen Custard

I first had Rita’s when I lived in Philadelphia. If you’ve never tried Rita’s Italian Ice, you’re in for a treat. It’s extremely smooth, served fresh (within 36 hours of mixing), and full of flavor. Their frozen custard and ice cream options are very delicious, too. They’ve incorporated a lot of other options at their locations over the years. You’ll see gelati, misto, blendini, cakes, and cookies. If it’s your first time, try the classic Italian Ice. They have lots of interesting flavors like Cantaloupe, Swedish Fish, Peanut Butter & Jelly, Island Fusion, and Florida Orange. My favorite is the Cotton Candy. If you want the classic signature flavor, get the Cherry one. Be sure to sample the flavors in store. Whichever flavor you choose, you’ll have a nice, cold treat to enjoy.

Had an amazing experience. I went in because I was having a sweets craving and wanted a brownie with ice cream. Oby (the owners son) told me they didn’t have that but he could put something together for me and he did after listening to what I wanted. It was just as amazing as it looks but more importantly he provided me with a customer experience I won’t forget. Thank you for helping me get my junk food fix.

I hate that they close during the fall and winter. Its hard to find a place with frozen custard and you usually have to settle for ice cream or frozen yogurt and neither of them have the taste that Rita's is known for. It would be best if at least one of the locations was open year round. This location is always nice and provides quality service.

GREAT, no, EXCELLENT service!! I wish I would have noted my servers name. But he was wonderful, patient, and friendly! Our treats were wonderful as well! I LOOOOVE Rita's!! It was the next best thing to getting Italian ices off the streets of NYC! But they are no longer in Atlanta, so I am delighted to indulge while in DC!! And this location surely did NOT disappoint! 💖
