Rita's Italian Ice & Frozen Custard

Been coming here for years! They always have my favorite flavors root beer and cotton candy. Service is quick even when there’s a line. I typically only get Italian ice but this time I added custard and got a gelati, only a $1 up charge. Totally worth it. You can tell them how to stack your custard and ice. Fully customizable so don’t be shy and try new things each time.

We visited four times during our four day visit to Ocean City. From northeast Ohio we do not have Rita's and this delicious Italian ice mixed with the creamy and fluffy soft serve was to die for. The flavor combinations are endless and delicious. The soft serve is light and fluffy almost like a marshmallow. We all loved it and want to visit again asap!

Three of the four items we ordered were good, but the blue raspberry italian ice did not taste at all like blue raspberry. Everyone knows blue tastes like “blue.” This tasted like chemicals and cotton candy. When i brought it to the attention of staff thinking maybe i was served the wrong flavor i was told it was indeed the blue raspberry. As i had only taken one bite and could not muster another, i asked to swap it for a different flavor. I was told no. I had to purchase another item entirely in order to have something edible. This establishment does not stand by their product, and for that, my family and i will not be giving them our money.

I always enjoy a tasty dessert from Ritas. This evening I ordered a quart of cotton candy ice as well as a quart of vanilla custard to take home for the family. It was a great idea and I believe it was cheaper than purchasing 4 separate gelatis. Everyone was happy!😃
