Rita's Italian Ice & Frozen Custard

This more recently opened location--I think in about the last 6 months, is excellent. I go to this one quite often and there is never a long line. The employees are very nice, cheerful and professional. The inside is always clean and well lit. Also, being at the top of a hilly area, you can enjoy the view somewhat. There is a cluster of large trees on the hilly area as part of the terrain and view. A very nice and cozy location while enjoying your cool, creamy treat!! I give it 2 thumbs up. The last two times I have tried to go there have not been good. As soon as I opened the door the smell of bleach was so overwhelming that I had to turn right back around and leave. My boyfriend stayed to place our order but when he came out he said the taste of bleach was in his mouth and the smell wouldn’t leave his nose. This was hours before closing so I’m not sure why it has been so bad. The bleach smell has to be detrimental to the young kids working in there. Not good for anyone’s health to breath that!

Everytime I walk in the place reeks of bleach or cleaning materials. It's so strong you can always taste it in the air. It's pretty disgusting, it's only Italian ice there's no reason it should smell that bad in there on multiple occasions.

Clean. Staff has been very helpful. I have been twice and I have liked it each time. People were respectful and helped out a little one try to decide what they wanted. They offered tastes to their flavors. I would definitely go back again.

Empty and quick service. My gelati had a few chocolate chips even though I ordered a mango/watermelon with vanilla custard. This didn't ruin it but made me disappointed. Also the sizes seem smaller than they previously had - seems less return on investment.
