We spent Valentine’s Day lunch at Rising Sun Bar and Kitchen in Palmyra with three other couples and it turned into one of those afternoons that just hits on every level. We reserved one of the winter globes on the patio between the two buildings and that alone made it worth the visit. Each globe feels like your own private dining room with a heater inside, so you stay comfortable even in February. On a sunny day it was warm enough that it felt almost springlike, and having that enclosed space made it cozy without feeling cramped. It honestly felt like we had rented out a private venue for our group of eight. If you want that experience, book it soon because the globes come down for regular outdoor seating once summer rolls around. We started with the poutine fries and the Sunrise sushi
We decided to rent one of the igloos at Rising Sun and they were amazing! They are HEATED, which was a concern for us on a cold night. The lighting was amazing and the food, as usual was great. If you can handle spice, the bang bang cauliflower was delicious. The crispy Brussels sprouts were so amazing I asked how they make them. Our 3rd appetizer was the pretzel and the cheese was fantastic. Our waitress was very helpful whenever we asked questions about the dishes and even let me know how spicy each dish was before I picked one! Overall an amazing experience!
Took my girlfriend on a date with a reservation for one of their igloo rooms and it was fantastic! It was warm, quiet, and the perfect spot for our date. I only wish it could have been snowing as well. The food was delicious too! We had the pulled brisket poutine fries, pulled brisket melt, and carne asada tacos. The fries were crispy and covered with lots of brisket, cheese, and gravy to make them even better while retaining their crunch. The brisket melt was so good and toasty with some great light charring on the outside, which added a nice crispness with each bite. Finally the carne asada tacos were full of flavor and adding the lime only made them better. Sadly the igloos are only out during the colder times of the year but I recommend reserving one for the experience. We'll be going
I am not one to leave a bad review but the server handed us a review card asking for a review so here we go… We were really looking forward to brunch, but the experience fell short. After waiting 55 minutes for our food, it arrived overheated and dried out, as if it had been sitting under heat lamps for too long. The texture and quality definitely suffered. Service was also lacking — our server checked on us only twice over the course of an hour and a half, all of our drink cups were empty and we had to wave her down to request the check. It was frustrating, especially given how long we had already waited. Hoping this was just an off day, but it wasn’t the experience we expected.
We had such a great first experience at Rising Sun Bar & Kitchen. So much of that was because of our waitress, Jamie H. Truly, a good dining experience starts with the wait staff, and she did not disappoint. From the moment we sat down, she was on top of everything. She offered thoughtful food and drink recommendations, kept refills coming without us ever having to ask, cleared plates promptly, and handled splitting checks for our party of six, all paying separately, like it was no big deal. She checked in throughout the entire meal in a way that felt attentive, not intrusive. We ordered a whole variety of items so we could sample a little bit of everything, and every single dish was amazing. We dined in one of the outdoor globes, which made the night feel extra special and cozy. Betwee
