Rinaldi's Italian Deli

Rinaldi’s Deli is an absolute Scottsdale gem. The meatball sub is unreal — perfectly seasoned meatballs, great sauce, fresh bread, and everything tastes high-quality (you can tell they don’t cheap out on ingredients). They’re also clutch for catering. Baked ziti, sausage & peppers, massive four-foot subs — perfect for game days or feeding a crowd. Easy ordering, generous portions, and consistently great food. If you’re looking for a legit Scottsdale deli that delivers every time, this is the spot. Highly recommend.

Im gonna say the burrito was basic but came out hot and that's what I like but the croissant was buttered and toasted to perfection. Well known for the deli sandwiches but I'll say they had a tasty breakfast. Nothing that I can honestly say puts a signature on them but service was good and the food came out to the counter with in 10mins and while they charge for extra sauce I don't believe in that while dining in and they gave us another one on the house. Cool, easy going location, and I'd say this is a vibe and worth a stop if you are near by.

I went to Rinaldi’s Italian Deli because they claim nobody beats their Italian subs. Unfortunately, that was not my experience. For $15, the sandwich I received had very little meat, as you can see in the photo. It was mostly bread, lettuce, and peppers, with only a couple thin slices of meat. An Italian sub should be generously filled, especially at this price point. The value just isn't there for me on this one. The overall experience did not help matters. While I was there, the owner was sitting on his phone and did not greet or acknowledge customers coming in. My sandwich was made extremely fast, which made it feel rushed rather than prepared with care. When I got home, I realized they also forgot the mayo entirely, which added to the disappointment. Fresh off a trip back from my home in Sicily (Provincia di Palermo), I had a serious craving to make authentic cannoli. I called Rinaldi's ahead of time specifically to see if they sold empty cannoli shells and fresh ricotta. I was told over the phone that they had both, so I made the drive down. When I arrived and asked to purchase the items, the staff suddenly backtracked, telling me they couldn't sell me the empty shells or the fresh ricotta and that I would have to speak to the owner. In Italy, navigating a little formality with the proprietor is completely normal, so I was actually pleased to walk over and introduce myself to a man named John, expecting a traditional exchange. I’ve been going to Rinaldi’s Deli for over 30 years and it never disappoints. They make some of the best sandwiches and my favorite is the Italian combo. John is an amazing owner and the entire staff is just as great. Everyone is so friendly and accommodating and always makes you feel welcome. As someone from New York I can honestly say this is a true gem of an Italian deli. Highly recommend.
