Rick's Cheese Steak Shop

On vacation in Williamsburg, one afternoon we needed lunch. "Maybe something light," I said. "Yeah we should get something healthy," she said. So we did a search online and instead we ended up here. But were SO glad we did! This little sandwich shop is a stone's throw away from William and Mary, surrounded by beautiful ancient trees and historic brick buildings. There is shared parking in this tiny complex, and big SUVs would find parking a little tricky but we were able to 3 point turn into a spot. We went inside and approached the counter where we read the options from a sign and a menu. The nice young lady behind the counter took our order. Checkout was done with one of those tablet thingies and prompted to choose a tip before paying. I generally find it annoying to be asked for a tip b

Great experience start to finish! We were welcomed by April when we walked in, placed our orders at the counter for dine in and April brought the food to us when ready. Food looked and tasted amazing (Italian Stallion for my husband, cheesesteak in a bowl for me). Generous portions so we had leftovers which were equally good the next day. Clean restaurant, delicious food, great location, friendly staff..win win!

Picked up a to go order. Very large portions which is great if you can eat it. There was something off about the bacon. Tasted and smelled horrible. So my turkey club and the chili cheese fries were inedible. $25 of my order was thrown out. Sandwich was fine

What a wonderful local gem! Family owned & operated, and you know it by the warm way the owners and their team treat you. HUGE portions! And you can even get wit whiz if you like. It's really a great spot with something for everyone. Nice local beer selection too. If you're feeling frisky, the Buffalo Cheesesteak is a must! See you soon, Rick's.

Happen to be working on one of the William and Mary dorms down the street and decided to give this place a try. First off the staff greeted me with a smile and was very nice but forgot to give me any utensils to eat my cheese fries. Got back to work,only to find out I had to eat my cheese fries with my fingers :(. The cheesesteak was pretty good. The sweet peppers definitely added some flavor to the mix and the portions where exceptional. They definitely don't hold back on the cheese when it comes to cheese fries,which I liked alot. The roll was kinda dry,which is the only thing that kept me from giving it a 5 star rating. Heard good things from my coworkers about the burgers,so I will give that a shot next week maybe. Overall it's good portions and we'll worth a try.
