Riccardo's Pizza & Restaurant

I used to love Riccardo’s in Beverly, but over the past year my experiences have been very disappointing. The counter is often staffed by younger employees who frequently get orders wrong and sometimes seem to have an unfriendly attitude. On a few occasions, items were also rung up incorrectly, which made the total higher than it should have been. Unfortunately, the food quality has also declined. The dishes just aren’t as flavorful as they used to be, which is really disappointing considering how much I used to enjoy ordering from here. Because of these repeated issues, it will probably be a long time before I decide to order from Riccardo’s again.

First time ordering from here. Heard good things from co-workers. Ordered a pizza, stromboli, and wings. The pizza was floppy. No structure to the dough. Sauce was decent. The stromboli was a pizza turnover with no sauce. Doesn't anybody know how to actually roll a stromboli anymore? The wings were small and overcooked. The wing sauce broke and the bottom of the container was all grease. What sauce was there did taste good though. Probably won't be back. I will say that the inside was neat and clean. There were three girls behind the counter, but they only knew how to help one customer at a time. Pretty annoying to have to stand in a two person line for 5 mins just to pick up a prepaid order.

I don’t usually write reviews, but today I have to because I was really disappointed. Don’t get me wrong — their food is good, that’s not the problem. But today the service just wasn’t it. I found this spot because I drive by it every day after work. I live about 15 minutes away, so one day I decided to stop and try it. The food was great, I was impressed, and I’ve been back a few times since. But today, man… I drove 15 minutes to grab some pizza and wings for football Sunday with my family, and it turned into a headache. Better than expected! We were looking for a local pizza place for takeout and were a bit hesitant to try Riccardo's because of the mixed reviews, especially Yelp. However, we were pleasantly surprised to find the pizza was pretty good! We got an individual white pizza, an individual "The Works" pizza, and an order of honey hot wings to share (for two). The pizzas had good flavor, the crust was soft, and the portions were decent. The wings were pretty tasty as well, and the honey hot sauce was amazing! Speaking of honey, I decided to buy the bottled honey since that's what they're known for and it is actually REALLY GOOD on pizza and in tea (and I dont even like honey!) It just give pizza an extra kick and zing because the honey is infused with chiles. Further, the staff was pretty friendly

The food is amazing. I got a sausage Parm sandwich with peppers and onions. I don’t live close but when I’m in the area visiting family, I always stop in. I have a picky toddler and the pizza here is the only thing I know he will always eat.! Actually, not because of the food, but because of the amazing service I experienced today I had my hands full with two pizzas and a sandwich and my toddler and one of the employees walked my food out to my car for me. I don’t know his name he was a young black teen with curly hair working today around 4:15 good afternoon. He was extremely nice and helpful and such a small gesture meant so much to me because he didn’t have to do it, it wasn’t part of his job but he simply was being helpful.
