Ambience The patio was quaint and cute—perfect for a relaxed Saturday morning bite. Although the dining room was closed early for a private event, the outdoor space offered a nice atmosphere to still enjoy our meal. Service Service overall was solid. When we first arrived, the hostess seemed a little unsure about how to handle guests who were willing to wait for patio seating, as the restaurant was adjusting to the private event schedule. Once we were seated, though, our server was absolutely stellar—attentive, friendly, and on point throughout our visit. Food We started with the Cajeta, which is made with goat milk. If you’re not a fan of that distinct goat milk flavor, it may not be for you—but my fiancé loved it, and I thought the oat milk version was delicious. We came mainly for the
Brunch was amazing! Fresh squeezed orange juice and this egg skillet with amazing tortillas were so good. Thought the service was average and the patio wasn’t amazing. But the food was so great that I’d go back and sit inside. Great cure to a hangover.
We have been to Republic Cantina many times. Good Tex-Mex in DC is slim pickings, but Republic makes it their speciality. Their brisket is amazing. It made my Tex-Mex Monte Cristo a delicious choice for brunch, paired nicely with freshly-made black iced tea served with a side of lime. I have been there for dinner as well. The service is average. There is a dining room but the sidewalk patio is nice, although the plants need some care.
I am texan, with a picky Texan mother — and this is the place! Everything was delicious, the best chips and salsa, the in-house brewed beer was delicious and every single food item hit. You can tell fresh ingredients and love is what they serve you. The owner and much of the staff are texan too so they know what theyre on about. You have to stop here for a dinner!
This place has some of the best chips and salsa I’ve had in the DMV! Really thick, crispy chips that are well salted, and the salsa has a smokiness that is balanced well by the fresh vegetables inside. Our entrees were well portioned and tasty, and the chocolate creme brûlée was fantastic. Our server was really kind and on top of our table, despite being busy. We sat outside, but it looked like there was nice seating indoors as well.
