You can tell the ingredients are fresh and that the dishes are made authentically at Reem’s! Love the hummus optionality (you can get not spicy up to extra extra spicy) and that they garnish with delicious pickled veggies. Also the tahini / toum sauce they top things with is phenomenal. Location and vibes — Unassuming food truck tucked away in the artsy/ edgy St. Elmo district. Only complaint is that after tax (but before tip) one of their meat plates comes out to just over $20. While it’s good food, it doesn’t feel like portions justify the cost being so high — especially as there was not much meat. I’d recommend they add a little more meat to make it feel like a better value.
We tried Reem’s Mediterranean food truck and were impressed with the quality and flavor. The falafel was the standout. It was fresh, crispy, and well-seasoned, with a smooth tahini sauce that tied it all together. The chicken and beef shawarmas were also excellent. They were juicy but neatly wrapped. The meat was tender, generously portioned, and had that authentic, well-balanced spice you look for in good shawarma. The hummus appetizer was okay. It was smooth but lacked some depth in flavor compared to the rest of the meal. Overall, Reem’s is serving up solid Mediterranean food, with the falafel and shawarmas especially worth trying. We will definitely be back if we’re in the area again.
Reem's is delicious. We enjoyed the falafel wrap and plate. The spicy hummus is fantastic. It is also right next to St. Elmo's brewery so you can grab a can and enjoy. There are a couple picnic tables nearby.
Very flavorful! Appreciate that the spicy hummus was actually spicy 🌶️ We enjoyed the chicken and beef/lamb plates. Very good, worth the price. Nice that you can eat the food inside spokesman and order a drink (plus ac and bathroom) Love supporting this place!
one of my FAVORITE places to eat in austin. chicken plate is my go-to, but the falafel wrap is my honorable mention. the tabbouleh is so fresh, the rice is cooked and seasoned perfectly, the chicken might just change your life, and the hummus is incredible. perfectly balanced and generous portions:) grab a couple entrees and (if available) some sumac fries to share, maybe a beer at spokesman, sake at texas sake… boom it’s a perfect foodie date night 🙌
