Customer Reviews
This Cathedral Heights Japanese restaurant will not disappoint. They have an extensive, diverse menu, and all of it is scrumptious. We started with the butterfly shrimp appetizer. The delicate, lightly fried juicy shrimp had a savory sauce which packed a zesty punch. For my main, I had the grilled ribeye steak. This perfectly cooked ribeye was accompanied by tasty brussels sprouts and pan-seared asparagus all tied together with a creamy and zesty wasabi sauce. My wife and son had a variety of sushi offerings, and they enjoyed every memorable bite. Service was friendly and attentive. Great choice if you are looking for a high quality asian meal.
We came on a Monday lunch so the restaurant was quite quiet. Unfortunately it still took over 30 minutes for our food to arrive. I had the beef donburi which came with a side of udon soup and tempura. The udon soup was delicious but the tempura was cold and the batter was too thick and not crispy. The steak bowl was fine, I needed to ask for extra sauce. It wasn’t bad but there are certainly better Japanese restaurants in the area to try.
Great food, the service is a little bit on the slow side but overall they do a decent job. It’s not really kid friendly but my two-year-old daughter flirted with the waiter and he flirted right back. They both had a good time. It’s not a bargain, but the prices are fair. Many of their menu items are the exact same at lunch and dinner, but much cheaper at lunchtime.
Raku's sushi is amazing, especially their sashimi platter, which is incredibly fresh, vibrant in color, and has an excellent texture. The combination of sea urchin and salmon is particularly good, with absolutely no fishy taste. The restaurant's modern and minimalist decor creates a perfect atmosphere for couples' dates or business gatherings. The waiters' recommendations are also excellent, and the dishes are served quickly and at the perfect temperature.
Super delicious rolls and tempura. The miso cod was divine. Prices are very reasonable for the quality and portion size of the meals.
