Railcar Modern American Kitchen

WARNING! This has to be one of the most overrated restaurants in Omaha. We were rushed the entire time and the overall vibe wasn’t great. But the biggest disappointment was the food. We ordered the Caesar salad, seafood chowder (which wasn’t even hot), steak frites that were cooked incorrectly with fries worse than McDonald’s, and the airline chicken. The chicken was easily the worst dish—rubbery, overcooked rotisserie-style chicken with plain Brussels sprouts and bland risotto. The bill came to $137, which made it even more frustrating. There are so many better places in Omaha at this price point. With the quality of food and overall experience, I’m honestly surprised they’re still in business. P.S. I usually don't write reviews but I would feel bad if someone spent their money here.

The food and drinks at railcar were really good! There was a big drink menu, the appetizer we had was good, and we all enjoyed the steaks. Our service was great, slightly slow, and the restaurant is loud itself, however we were there on NYE so that is most likely why.

Sat down and took 10 minutes, to get acknowledged or drinks. When my daughter got her sprite there was a fly in it. When we asked for a new drink, they brought water back. And when they refilled it for the 2nd time, they brought sprite back again. So it was sprite, water, sprite. Daughter and I wanted something light, we both ordered from the kids menu. I dont mind that I didnt get half off, but my daughter should have. Then my daughter overheard the lady running the front desk not only talk about me behind me back, but then the server came over and said for future reference I cant order from the kids menu because his boss "yelled" at him. I had an incredible experience at Railcar Modern American Kitchen, and it was 100% thanks to Rachel! From the moment I sat down, her customer service was absolutely top-notch. She took the time to really understand my preferences and made thoughtful suggestions based on what I was in the mood for. Her knowledge of the menu and the craft cocktails was impressive - she clearly knows this place inside and out. The drinks she recommended? Absolutely THE BEST. She nailed exactly what I was looking for and then some. And the food - wow! The chicken schnitzel was perfectly crispy and delicious, and the gnocchi vodka was incredible. Wouldn't recommend - we had warm beer, long wait times on a back up drink... and their to-go containers are like something from a pizza place lol. Interesting experience but we wont be returning. "To go" container pictured
