Queens Public Library at Laurelton

I haven’t visited this library in several years, but I stopped by recently while I was in the neighborhood. I was happy to see that the staff were just as kind and welcoming as I remembered. Their customer service is truly amazing. Thank you to all of the Laurelton staff, I can’t wait to visit again.

Everytime I bring my son or daughter to this library I am ran out of there by the noise from patrons and staff. Did library culture change and maybe I missed the memo? Since when do we talk in our regular voices in a library. I live in this community, and would love to use the space however I find myself communting to you guessed it Long Island for a better learning space.

UPDATE NOW OPEN - confirmed 2/1/25 _ LIBRARY CLOSED until “fall 2023.” As seen at 5pm 3/20/23

I moved from LI to Queens 5 years ago this was the one of the first places that I looked for because my children are all in college and 1 in grade school. I found that the Library is very low lit but Mr. Wong and his staff are all very pleasant. They have a few volunteers who come and help out who are also very nice and even helpful with updates in the community. The library has tones of educational and helpful resources. I feel very safe with my child attending for the hour which I am not with her but I also enjoy the time I spend with her there during her learning sessions . There are some children which come and may be ruff around the edges but that training is learned at home. I feel there is plenty of staff to attend to the children and the needs of others I recommend this as a pare
