Queens Public Library at Glendale

This library has to be my favorite. Its 10x better than barnes and nobles imo, and the book selection is awesome. The librarians are also super kind! :)

Queens Public Library at Glendale – A Solid Neighborhood Spot The Queens Public Library in Glendale is a decent little branch. It’s not the biggest library around, but it gets the job done. The staff is helpful, and the space is clean and organized. One of the better parts of this location is the kids’ section—it’s cozy, colorful, and has a nice variety of books for different age groups. They also have activities and programs from time to time that are great for keeping little ones engaged. Overall, it’s a good local library to have in the neighborhood. Not flashy, but reliable.

Cute library with a decent collection of books - well cared for and maintained. Its ADA entrance is locked, so it must be accessed by request - so it is a bit of a barrier for users, which is the only reason it didn't get 5 stars.

I personally love the NY public libraries, but the staff at this location are not welcoming, nor friendly, nor kind and seem to particularly dislike single mothers. They will answer any questions and direct you to a solutions for the most part but they all seem to be underhanded and slightly shady. On my first visit to this branch when I'd just moved into this neighborhood one of the librarians told me that I could not sign up for a Queens library card online and that she would not sign me up without proof of address and another document. When I went home to check the website on my computer I found that not only was I able to sign up for a library card online but it was relatively easy and I was able to pick up my card on my next visit.
