Qiao Lin Hotpot - Boston

One of the best hotpot experiences I had in Boston. Stopped by this past Friday afternoon for an early dinner. Since they don’t take reservations, your best bet is either joining the Yelp waitlist ahead of time or coming at an off hour. Thankfully, the latter worked for us. The restaurant was still packed, but we were seated in a booth without waiting. I’d heard a lot about their signature chicken broth, and the Golden Chicken Soup with Collagen absolutely lived up to the hype. It was a literal magic potion that managed to be deeper and richer than a standard bone broth without ever feeling cloying or heavy. Best hot pot I’ve been to in the area. I would rank this place first for the best tasty broth that didnt require dipping sauces. They had quality cuts of the short rib and their cilantro meatballs were great. Collagen chicken and tomato broth was my favorite. The crepe cake was absolutely fire. This is one of the best hot pot places in the Boston area. Very attentive staff, great meat cuts, one of the best sauce bars. If you're looking for authentic, this place is the place to be. It is always very busy, so expect to be waiting if you come anytime after 5pm. They offer spicy and nonspicy options. We got level two spicy, golden chicken, and mushroom as our suit bases. They do also offer bubble tea and fruit teas. You can't go wrong with this place.

There was a long wait, over an hour because I didn't make a reservation and it was a Friday night. I'm glad I waited, I enjoyed the experience. You order your food ahead of time so once you get to your table your food is there within a few minutes, not sure if that's just the busy times but seems like a good idea. Food was awesome! The sel-serve area has great variety of food including desert, fruits, dipping sauces and some cold dishes. The sliced beef is a must have. However i personally didn't quite like the best seller (p2) it felt cery thick-cut and didn't taste as good as the sliced beef. Be mindful of this place is very popular and sometimes you may need to wait for an hr for a table. If you can, come in first to sign in or use yelp app to secure a place first.
