Purple Urchin Restaurant

This was my first time at Hampton Beach, and there were places that were recommended to me, but I’m glad I skipped those and ended up here ❤️ Riley, you are an incredible waitress, and I loved seeing that all of the staff was genuinely happy to be at work together. Keep up the morale of the restaurant. It’s noticed for sure. Keep being good to your employees ☺️ The food and drinks were amazing. And the views, perfect for the upcoming summer. And their prices were very very reasonable. I can’t recommend them enough!

This Purple Urchin offers unbeatable views of the beach, Ocean Boulevard, and the bandstand, perfect for a relaxing meal after a day at the beach. The wait staff were both friendly and efficient, contributing to a pleasant overall dining experience. The food was a highlight. We had the swordfish, which was perfectly cooked and paired beautifully with coconut rice and a flavorful mango sauce. The baked haddock was also excellent, tender and flaky with just the right amount of crispy breadcrumbs. A fantastic dining experience from start to finish; we'll definitely be back next time we visit Hampton Beach!

We always really love the Purple Urchin. It is sort of a tradition to go here when we are in Hampton Beach! The best part about it is the upper deck covered porch seating that overlooks the Sea Shell Stage and the beach! They have great drinks and decent enough food. It isn't fancy by any means - the tables and chairs are plastic and there is a very beachy/relaxed vibe. The wait staff is insane at their jobs! I'm always impressed at how hard working they are. We were able to walk up as a party of 6 in August and be seated immediately without reservations, even though the place was absolutely packed! They don't take reservations, so you have to hope for the best! We were surprised with a wonderful table and the Hampton's Got Talent show was starting for us to enjoy with our meal and drinks!

We had a great experience at Purple Urchin! The waitress was super friendly and welcoming, and service was fast and attentive. We ordered the beet salad with chicken and the mussels, both were absolutely delicious. The ocean view made it even better. We’ll definitely be coming back!

Worst food I've had in a long time. Baked haddock is drowned in butter. Mashed potatoes were so runny I thought it was chowder. Tomatoes on the caprese salad were hard as rocks. The staff are nice people, but completely clueless. Seems like they haven't received any training.
