Love this little gem. It's all about the Veteran's. There back room is covered with photos with all services represented. Definitely would try if your in town. We heard about them from a friend otherwise we probably wouldn't not tried it or even knew about it. The food was good and service was great. I had breakfast pancakes with peanut butter. It came with eggs and I chose sausage links was not a fan of them, (picky eater) and tasted off. My friend had the cheeseburger and agreed they food was good. You definitely get a lot of food. When it comes to having a server they use a poker chip, they don't have sections. A chip is laid on the table this is done so that they rotate. You will not be disappointed if you stop by.
Got lucky and got seated right away. Service was quick getting out drinks and order. Food took a while and was definitely worth the wait. My new favorite breakfast restaurant. Food portions and quality were excellent. One was the Skillet with corned beef and a side of ham, the other was a Sacramento omlet with potatoe cakes and a side of bacon. Both dishes were delicious. I think their jam is homemade. I absolutely would recommend this place.
Pie & corned beef hash are rarely this good. Dynamite service. No nonsense American diner with GREAT classics and some modern touches. Buckwheat pancakes, banana cream pie, chicken fried steak, potato cakes, gravy, biscuits, and skillet rocked. Worth the detour from the freeway. Can’t wait to go back.
First time me and the family have been and the food was AMAZING. Love supporting mom and pop local businesses and the atmosphere was great. Service was amazing and the chicken fried steak was to die for. Definitely our new family breakfast spot.
Punkys diner is a Great place to get pies, I decided to try their breakfast, the host was lackluster, just scowling and I had to ask for water where others didn't. The server was great tho.. the food... The 7.50 waffle was burnt, leaving an incredibly bitter after taste. The bacon was the thinnest you can get and way way way over cooked, to the point that it was borderline burnt, it also didn't seem freshly made that day, tho I could be wrong. The eggs were cooked perfect over easy and the biscuits and gravy was pretty good. Overall, I would say to go for the pies but skip the breakfast, or at least don't get the bacon and waffles.
