Pump House Ranger Station

This must be what they call Manzanita. This is definitely a life saver when doing SK to NK! Last stop for water, shade, rest, refueling, and talking to hikers before tackling the remaining 5 miles to the north rim! It's literally all up hill from here! Longest 5 miles of my life!

Rangers were nice, but despite throwing up for four hours straight (water, food, even pills), they wouldnt administer an IV without sending me to Kanab hospital, despite them agreeing it was the only intervention that was needed. (The only thing I needed was an IV bc my stomach rejected everything). It took me 36 hours and over $1000 in travel expenses to make it back to my car. Dont count on the Rangers to give you help without ruining your week while they are at it. Silly and ridiculous policy.

This is not called the Pump House Ranger Station anymore, don't look for it on a National Park Map. It's now the Manzanita Rest Area. I tried submitting an update to Google Maps but they rejected it. So here's the update from the NPS.

Love this place. Nice shades and benches. It's perfect to relax after hike. Drinking water and toilet are available here.

This place was a life saver. Bathrooms are nice and there is water.
