Customer Reviews
The food at Pueblo Viejo was okay overall. I ordered the chicken fajita quesadilla, but it had very little chicken—maybe half of a piece in the entire quesadilla—and was mostly filled with onions and bell peppers. Service was slow, likely due to being short-staffed. Our waitress was extremely busy but very nice and friendly. Unfortunately, a couple near us ended up leaving because they waited so long to be helped. With better staffing and more balanced portions, this place could be much better.
We always enjoy coming here! The food is consistently delicious — from the nachos piled high with toppings to the classic taco plates with rice and beans, everything is fresh and full of flavor. The service is always spot-on, attentive without being overbearing, which makes the experience even better. The atmosphere is lively and fun, which makes it a great spot for a date night or a family outing. That said, it can get a little noisy at times, so hearing aid wearers may want to keep that in mind. Overall, this is one of our favorite local Mexican restaurants. Great food, perfect service, and an inviting vibe that keeps us coming back!
Visited 1-30-26 around 6:45 to 7 in the evening, busy but not too busy, did not wait long to sit, the queso was good as were the chips and salsas, don’t worry the hot one is not hot, the Elotes were absolutely delicious and very true to what they should be, the margarita was a solid 8/10, sweet tea was the perfect sweetness, ordered the Mole enchiladas, the corn tortilla was thick and held together well with the mole sauce, the mole was very flavorful which ended more on a sweeter note which I like for mole, the beans were good and rice good too, overall this is a great little spot in Okeechobee, the atmosphere was lively and no one was overly loud, the staff were friendly and polite.
The food is delicious and the waiter who served us was very friendly. They should just replace the baby changing table or install a more permanent one.
Service was fine, food was okay, more taste of American food. Not alot of spices but I think it's what the local people want. Past thru Okeechobee and stopped for lunch. I used the lunch menu. But the main thing I found was the menu price and what was charged for my food and Patron Margarita. Plus I didn't see on the menu they have a charge if you use a credit or debit card. So just check your bill to make sure it is what you ordered in price. The difference totaled $4.00 more than the menu. NOT the server's fault, I tipped accordingly.
