⭐️⭐️⭐️½ — Solid NOTE: This is a hard one. IT’S NOT BAD… it’s just not great.Prices are fairly reasonable for seafood along Hwy 98 Gulf Drive through the small towns. This feels like a local spot to get seafood without the frills or high prices of the other tourist-oriented places. 🍽️ FOOD: The lunch special (about $15) was flounder with two sides — baked beans and coleslaw (not our choice). The flounder was served in small strips. I’m not sure if it was locally caught, but it seemed over-breaded and was a bit hard. The hush puppies were definitely overcooked — hard on the outside with a slight stale oil taste. The baked beans tasted straight out of a can with no doctoring up. The coleslaw was store-bought, not homemade (if it was homemade, they nailed the buffet flavor perfectly). We also order
Loved the food. Loved the service. Loved the diner. Kaitlyn was our server and recommended the shrimp. Cooked and seasoned perfectly. They were delicious as was the catfish.
Love, love, LOVE this restaurant!! I live in Texas, but my extended family lives nearby in Sopchoppy and we ALWAYS go to Posey's at least once while we're visiting. We just returned home from a trip there and we came to eat on endless shrimp night and then again for the prime rib. At peak dinner hours, this place is extremely busy, but the waitresses are all very sweet and most of them have been working there for several years. The place feels like home and a trip to the panhandle isn't complete without coming here. My two favorite things to order are the grilled shrimp salad and the peel n eat shrimp, but everything on the menu is delicious 👍
The quality of food has gone down over the past months. The service ware has taken a beating and needs to be replaced. Their standard plastic cups are showing so much wear as in chips around the edge of the cups. Also, for goodness sakes, if you run out of captain wafers, put them on the side of the serving plate beside the salad bowl. Giving out a plastic snack bag with four crackers is absurd and is an insult to patrons. The quality of the food has gone down also. Every bite tasted of old oil whether it was fried or grilled. A simple remedy is the fryer needs to be deep cleaned, not just replacing the oil. The griddle needs to be cleaned also to remove old residue. The thing that is the worst, is the added chopped parsley and onion to every seafood plate to make the plate look m
The best grouper sandwich I have ever had in many years. All of the food was very fresh
