Portillo's Tomball

Always a great place to eat. The flavor is something very different from the Texas norm, and I think Texans just like to eat anything that has good flavor. The Italian beef gravy is what makes the sandwich. And the authentic Chicago style got dog has it's own unique flavor. Is you have not been, you owe it to yourself to give it a try. Very nice atmosphere as well. Like an upscale Whataburger vibe.

Had lunch at the new Portillo’s in Tomball with the family. Got the classic Chicago-style hot dog, good snap on the casing and solid flavors. Nothing mind-blowing, though. (I expected more variety in hot dog options for some reason.) The big Italian beef sandwich was huge as stated. Made it a combo to try the fries, which were just okay. Wife enjoyed the spicy chicken sandwich for its nice kick. Kids went with char-broiled burgers (full size), generous patties with that classic char flavor. Self-serve refillable soda fountain, massive drive-thru, and super convenient setup for online orders/delivery apps with clear pickup areas. Overall, solid classic fast food spot bringing Chicago vibes to Texas. Decent but not standout for my taste, worth a try if you’re curious!

Update: Sunday, March 1, 2026 Finally got a chance to visit Portillo's, but this time with family in tow. Juicy delicious burgers, great Chicago style hot dogs, and of course, my favorite Italian beef, with hot peppers, and dipped so it was soggy. I'm updating my review to 5 stars all around. Great place for lunch and dinner with delicious food and quick service. I'll need to come here more often, it's just a bit out of the way from Conroe. Previous Review: I love Portillo's. I grew up in the Chicagoland area and a Portillo's was right across the street from my house. They provided very fast service during the lunch and dinner rush. A new fast food dinning option recently added to our area. Being familiar with the chain and having friends from Chicago I was excited to try them out. First off the presentation had a lot of thought that went into the design and presentation of the restaurant. The interior decoration is super cool. It has hints of nostalgia with vintage seating and images all through the restaurant. With that said service is more on the modern side with the entrance being lined with self service kiosk, but there is staff at the counter for those who would like the more traditional service with human interaction. Thebfood was prepared fairly quickly. Its menu is primarily focused on hot dogs and roast beef sandwiches. They do offer hamburgers and some options with chicken. I chose the hamburger for my 1st

Note that I am a Portillo‘s fan and shareholder so I really like the chain. I like the concepts as a family. We ordered three Italian beef with hot and sweet peppers. Added the cheese wanted it wet so you know that you’re fighting the wetness of the juice sauce versus the Firmness of the bun. You must go quickly had the crinkly fries, Chicago style, hot dog, the chicken tenders and a cheeseburger everybody seem to really enjoy it. That was a delicious experience came made to order freshly made. I would note that this is not a fat free experience, especially when you add That Italian beef so just know that going in. Very clean exterior and interior, friendly, smiling staff I like that when they call out the numbers, they added a little something special seem like everyone was kind of enjoy
